Recording from my mixer to the PC?
I’ve managed to connect my mixer to my laptop PC (in the mic input) and everything seems to be nicely connected. I start recording and the first 2/3 seconds when I play the vinyl work nicely. But then the track just loses it’s bass, the volume goes down a lot and you can hardly hear what’s playing. I’ve replaced the cable which connects the mixer and the PC but the problem is still there. Anyone ever had this problem before? Help please…
I’ve used 2 different programs: Audacity and Soundwave, and the problem is still present on both, so it’s probably in the PC
first off use the line in input which is more suited to what your purpose is. you proably overloaded the mic input. make sure you dont put too much gain on the output. otherwise it will start doing what its doing. if you dont have a line in then get an external sound card such as the http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20031121.gtaudigynov21/BNStory/TechReviews/ make sure when your monitoring the audio you dont have it going beyond 0db otherwise it will start clipping and all that.
