Will an old needle harm a vinyl record during play?
Im not sure how to define “old” but Id say this needle has been used often for maybe a couple years.
I dont want to play it on my good vintage 45s if it will severely degrade the sound quality or anything.
I would recommend replacing the cartridge on your machine (if possible) to ensure that it does not wear your 45s unnecessarily.
Any record will degrade over time while being played, but keeping a fresh needle will help it last much longer.
