Sewing seam in vinyl boat cover?
Our vinyl boat cover seam ripped. A new cover is approx $125, our cover is approx 5 years old.
how long is the lifespan of a cover such as this in the sun everyday on a trailer? Should we just buy a new one, or look into getting the seam re-sewn? Where could we do this?
Sorry, I meant the boat cover itself, not the seat covers. The cover you put on when the boat is not in use, when it’s stored on the trailer.
It’s best to replace the cover to protect the interior of your boat. Covers like the one you have are cheap enough to do it every time one has a problem with them. I paid $650 for a custom fitted cover for my 98, 21ft Glastron two years ago and will do it again when the time comes! Especially since I recovered the seats myself with new vinyl two years ago.
