Selling/Buying used vinyl records? (classics- listed)?
I have over 100 used vinyl records- most in excellant condition, all are bands from the 50’s- early 80’s… most of them are from late 60’s early 70’s classic rock. I am interested in selling them but don’t know where or how to do it, trying to avoid ebay because I don’t want to deal with shipping… anybody have any ideas, or know of any particularly valuable albums that are worth a good amount of money? there are many elvis, beatles, various different funk, pink floyd, jimmy buffet, classic r&b, blues, etc. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks
Should have stated that all ideas are appreciated besides completely obvious ones… I am looking for a way to make money with them- not lose money by paying 50 bucks for a newspaper ad or making 10 cents a piece at a yard sale. Also, I need a way that (as I have already stated) is NOT ebay. Am I in a bad mood or are you both just idiots?
The value of vinyl depends on the condition/quality of the record and the interest of a buyer. For instance, someone might not give you a nickel for a particular 45 that someone else who wants that 45 would pay $50 for.
Most “classics” aren’t worth much, because (a) they’re on CD and (b) they’re plentiful. There are exceptions, of course, and those are rarities. A “butcher” cover of the Beatles’ “Yesterday and Today” is worth money. While not worth as much, a gatefold version of the Eagles’ first album (where the photo in the gatefold was upside down) is worth more because it’s rare.

Best of the Beatles: Pete Best – Mean, Moody and Magnificent $5.58 People with far more tenuous connections to the Beatles than drummer Pete Best, the subject of Best of the Beatles, have written books, made films, and otherwise tried to cash in on their moment in the Fab Four’s sun. Best, after all, was a member of the band, a claim that only two other fellows (the late Stu Sutcliffe and Jimmy Nicol, who very briefly replaced Ringo Starr when the latter fell ill… |

Aerosmith’s Greatest Hits $3.86 Even before their second fling with the pop mainstream, Aerosmith were one of Top 40’s favorite hard-rock bands, so ubiquitous–and so funky–that Run-D.M.C. were vociferous fans. Their ’70s output included at least three classic albums (Aerosmith, Toys in the Attic, and Rocks). This disc collects unstoppable singles into a horny, howling little piece of archaeology that makes even weak links like… |
