I live in a house that I am going to inherit once it goes through the courts.?
It was my moms and she really has not done much to it in the 30 years that she lived here. It was built in the 50’s and it is a small ranch, very simple. It needs so much work and I am trying to figure out what I might be looking at price wise. The roof needs replacing and I would like to go with standing seam ( I think it is called). I need 9 replacement windows and a large picture window. I also need new vinyl siding and a new chimney. Can anyone give me a rough idea what I am looking at. The one thing is my husband and his brother may be able to do all the work but the chimney.
You’ll be looking at about $150 each for the windows, assuming that you do the work yourself & that they are standard double hung vinyl replacement. The roof, figure about $5500 for all the materials & some decking replaced. Not sure about the chimney. Siding depends on the grade of materials you’re looking for, but standard double 4″ siding you can find for about $60/square. Hope with helps.
