Can big mirrors be made, that don’t show glue-spots?
Today, I saw the shadowy spots where the glue that attaches a large mirror to the wall had leached through the “silvering” behind the glass. The mirror is fairly new plate-glass, and was installed about three years ago.
Can big mirrors be made, that don’t show these kinds of glue spots? If the glass were thicker, for example, and the whole mirror put into a rigid frame, and that frame attached to the wall?
There’s a “Hall of Mirrors” at Versailles, the palace that Louis XIV built, outside of Paris, France, a few hundred years ago. Are the mirrors that are in that room original? They’re pretty big; do they show glue spots, when the sun hits them?

Would a mirror that doesn’t show glue spots cost more than a mirror that does?
The silvering might not be good quality. I have installed mirors for many years, using all kinds of adhesive, but the trick is to get a good quality mirror. A frame is a good idea, then you can screw thru the frame into the wall.
