How to be the best Hip Hop DJ possible?
I own over 1,300 hip-hop records (and planning to buy some more), vinyl turntables, and a professional club mixer. I am most inspired by DJs such as DJ AM, Z-Trip, D.J.P., and Mix Master Mike. I know I listed some of the best DJs in America, but I would love to be able to spin at their caliber. Any good resources for learning their tricks of the trade? Any lists of good hip-hop sets to help me get started? Any advice would be helpful!
I am a DJ in real life, but I am a mobile DJ. I want to be great at the turntables and put my vinyls to use. I also wanna make some demo mixes that make me go crazy (and everyone else who listens to them).
Honestly the best way to get good is just from experience. I am an aspiring DJ myself and have been for several years. I don’t find reading tips or anything like that helpful but I have gotten progressively better and more comfortable on turntables with time. Just keep up the practice and effort and you will get better.
