How old do you have to be to work in a record/novelty store?
I’m 15 years old, and there’s a record store/novelty store in my town. They buy, sell, and trade things. They buy old baseball cards. They sell old matchbox and hot wheels cars, baseball cards, and other novelties. they also sell vinyl records from the 1950s to the 1980s and music cd’s. I live about 45-90 minutes from new york city (I’m in upper bergen county in new jersey). can someone tell me how old you have to be to work in a store like that? Or in any record store?
In most states except Texas and Cali , you can legally work at 14. You can apply to work at that store.. Most managers have the hiring “authority” to decide. At 15 you are still restricted from working during school hours or late at night. That is why most record stores would rather hire at 16. Go ahead and try.
