Vinyl Soft Top Convertible Help.?
Ok, I got the greatest Christmas Present in the history of Christmas Presents. My momma got me a 2004 Ford Mustang Convertible because she knew I would always buy a Truck for work and wanted a Mustang for ever! Bought it from a long time friend for a heck of a deal, but I digress.
I have never owned a Convertible, never imagined I would get to own one due to me being a bona-fied truck guy. But I got one and love it. Problem is I don’t have a Garage and I live in Florida. I have tried to find a Convertible Cleaner and a Convertible Sealer/Protectant. Advanced Auto Parts and Walmart do not have anything for Convertible tops at all in their stores! I know that these products exist but I do not want to buy over the internet if I can get local.
Any advice where to buy and a good brand? P.S. To make matters worse, the convertible top….. It’s bright white and shows every speck of dirt! The car was Garage kept up until I got it, and I want to keep it like new.

You need to forget about the local Auto Supply stores like Auto Zone, Advanced Auto Parts and certainly never look for car items at a junk store like Wal-Mart. If you want to take care of your Mustang top, you need to go to the specialists.
The place I like best is Tops4Less.com. They have everything for car convertible tops and also for Jeep & Suzuki tops. Below are links to their pages for convertible top cleaners. The two best are –
(1) 303 Products – there is a specific convertible top kit or you can get a bottle of their convertible top cleaner.
(2) Bestop Protectant and Cleaners (Bestop makes all of the original equipment tops for Jeep) – they have cleaners for the top and also for the windows and a great protectant that will keep the UV from damaging the vinyl in the top.
Either product will clean your vinyl top and keep it protected from the elements for the future. If you have the vinyl back window and not the glass window on your Mustang, you will also want to get the vinyl window cleaner.
