what are the details of the music industry restricting returns on vinyl in the early days of Compact Discs?
I understand that at first, CD’s did not sell as well as anticipated–and that the music industry made it very difficult for records stores to return unsold vinyl, at least until sales for CD’s picked up–a few years ago I googled up an article that doesn’t seem to be on the ‘net anymore–there’s about 25 words on it in the Talk section of the Wikipedia article–I’d like details and if possible, sources.
