Can I leave my intex vinyl pool liner and steel frame up empty with no water up throughout the winter?
I live in Missouri and emptied my pool but left about a foot of water in it to make it easier to clean (alge covered floor) but water evaporated before I got a chance to clean it and now it has sat like this for about 2 months and was wondering can I just leave it up on its frame (I have no cover-ran over it on the mower-big OOPS!) this winter and then clean it this spring? It’s only getting to a high temp of about 50-60 degrees and burrr it will be cold out there cleaning it with the pressure washer. If I can’t leave it up ..could I take it down and store it and then clean it this spring. We have had 2 frosts already….I really need your advice here…..thanks.
We’ve had an Intek for the last three years, we leave it up year round.
We don’t drain it, we super chlorinate in the fall and in very early spring. We still get some algae in the late spring, but a gallon of bleach, followed by a clarifier takes care of that issue. We just vacuum it out and it’s a ok.
Our pool is up and running by swimming season, with no problems at all. We live in Tennessee.
