Online site that has lossless (WAV or AIFF) downloads of classical music?
Yes, I am an audiophile, I still buy classical music on vinyl. I was wondering if there was a site on the Internet that sells classical music in a lossless format (WAV or AIFF)? I really cringe when I hear beautiful art music being compressed to the point of disgust. 256k MP3 format is not anywhere near sufficient for listening to art music AT ALL!
I also understand that these lossless files take up a lot of space due to containing so much information in them and that is why iTunes et al do not have them… yet. I realize that when storage becomes more and more affordable and the Internet becomes faster- they may go to a lossless format. I believe that if we all write iTunes that they will improve their formats to lossless me dreaming again), it’s worth a try. Thanks all!
