fired because of mrsa?
my husband had mrsa, and stays in a bunkhouse while at work. he work seven days on and seven days off on a oil rig. he uses a vinyl mattress protecter under his sheets and sanitizes everything he uses after he uses them, sink shower toilet, ect. doesn share towels or any personal items. one of the guys he works with, that doesnt stay at the bunkhouse had a spot come up on the back of his neck, and went to the dr. they think he may have staph and are waiting on cultures. my husbands toolpusher(supervisor) pulled him aside, told him he couldnt ever stay at the bunkhouse again (which means a 4 hour drive everyday after a 12 hour shift) and said if it was the same strand as his, then he was going to fire him. he said legally he cant fire him for having staph, so he’ll just find some other reason. what are our rights here?its sunday, so i cant call a lawyer, but i plan on it.my husband didnt ask for mrsa, he contracted it from a brown recluse bite. any suggestions?
If he gets fired then I’d get legal help and sue the pants off that company.
